Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched carbon intensity (CI) measures and carbon accounted costs for the following locations:
The CI for each location is published in mtCO2e/MMBtu, to reflect total GHG emissions per MMBtu of gas.
Platts also publishes a carbon accounted cost for the CI measures as a $/MMBtu equivalent using the Platts Carbon Removal Credit Assessment (CRC, ACRCA00). This will reflect the cost to offset the GHG emissions using credits derived from natural or technological carbon capture.
The carbon intensity measures are published on a monthly basis on the 15th of each month. If the 15th falls on a non-working day, the data will be published on the next working day.
The carbon accounted $/MMBtu cost for the CI measures are published on a daily basis.
The North America Carbon Intensity measures and associated carbon costs are published in the following locations:
Platts Dimensions Pro/Platts Connect
Gas Daily
AGP (Americas Gas & Power)
ETA (Energy Transition Alert)
