SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to report weekly Belgian, Dutch power prices

Following industry consultation and a review of Belgian and Dutch power market reporting, S&P Global Platts has decided to report on the Belgian and Dutch power markets on a weekly basis from January 3, 2017.

At the same time, Platts will reduce the number of power contracts being assessed and will discontinue all day-ahead and related prompt power contracts by the end of December 2016.

Platts will also discontinue quarter-ahead + 1 baseload and all peakload forward contracts for the Dutch power market.

Platts will continue to assess and publish on a weekly basis (on Wednesdays) the remaining monthly, quarterly and annual baseload contracts for both markets.

Platts remains committed to providing quality market information and commentary in all European power markets and will continue reporting on the above markets' activity, news, events and policy as appropriate.

All affected codes and symbols to be discontinued are listed below and are published in Platts European Power Daily, on European Power Alert pages 52 (Netherlands) and 70 (Belgium) and in Market Data category EE.

Associated monthly average symbols in Market Data category EE and dynamic symbols in Market Data category PE will also be discontinued along with the associated day-ahead spark and clean spark spreads which are published in European Power Daily, on European Power Alert pages 640, 642, 662 and 664 and in Market Data category EM.

In addition, Platts will discontinue its Continental European Indices, which are published in European Power Daily, on European Power Alert pages 786 and 788 and in Market Data category EE.
