SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes to rename, update methodology for US propane cargo assessment

S&P Global Platts proposes to revise its FOB Houston propane cargo assessment to reflect additional loading locations on the US Gulf Coast, and change the name of the assessment to FOB USGC, with effect from April 2, 2018.

Currently, the FOB Houston propane cargo assessment reflects parcels loading from the Enterprise and Targa terminals on the Houston Ship Channel. Since 2015, other LPG export terminals have come online on the US Gulf Coast, including Phillips 66's terminal in Freeport, Texas, and Energy Transfer Partners' terminal in Nederland, Texas.

Platts proposes to reflect loadings from the Freeport and Nederland terminals in its propane cargo assessment from April 2, 2018. Platts also proposes to change the name and pricing basis of the cargo assessment in all publications to FOB USGC, from FOB Houston, from April 2, 2018.

The propane cargo assessments appear in Platts US Marketscan and Platts LPGasWire; on Platts Global Alert page 780; and in the Platts database under the following codes:
