SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Specification update for Brazil's Roncador crude

Please note that Platts assessments for Brazil's Roncador crude currently reflect crude with a typical gravity of 19.8 API, sulfur content of 0.935% and a Total Acid Number (TAN) of 2.39 mg KOH/g.

Platts assessments for Roncador have reflected crude of this general quality since 2013, when Roncador exports began to reflect a heavier, more sulfurous specification than had previously been typical for the crude.

Prior to 2013, Roncador exports and Platts Roncador assessments had reflected crude with a gravity of about 28.3 API, and sulfur content of 0.58%.

Platts intends to update this specification as published in its global Crude Oil Methodology and Specifications Guide with immediate effect, to reflect the changes that have already occurred in the physical market.

At the same time, Platts intends to update the conversion factor reflected for Roncador to 6.72 barrels per metric ton from 7.1 barrels per metric ton.
