Platts is amending some of its nonferrous price assessment schedules for the two holiday weeks in December to account for expected light trading on some typical assessment days.
For the work week ending December 25, Platts will assess US aluminum alloys and secondary scrap once for the week, on Tuesday, December 22. US weekly price assessments normally done on Thursday will be assessed on Wednesday, and weekly prices normally assessed on Wednesday will be assessed on Tuesday, with the exception of silicon, which will remain on Wednesday.
The same US schedule will be applied to the following work week ending December 31: US aluminum alloys and secondary scrap will be assessed once for the week, on Tuesday, December 29. US weekly prices normally done on Thursday will be assessed on Wednesday, and weekly prices normally assessed on Wednesday will be assessed on Tuesday, with the exception of silicon, which will remain on Wednesday.
For other global weekly price assessments, those normally assessed on Friday will be assessed on Thursday for both weeks, including European base metals, European 226 aluminum alloy, and FOB China assessments for magnesium and electrolytic manganese metal.
