SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts launches gasoline, propane delivered cargo assessments for Brazil

As part of its commitment to providing insight into new markets, S&P Global Platts has started publishing a number of new assessments for gasoline and propane for delivery to Brazil, effective November 9.

These assessments follow the launch of similar Brazil CFR cargo assessments, August 31 for ULSD and October 1 for jet fuel.

NEW GASOLINE ASSESSMENTS: Platts has added gasoline assessments on a CFR basis to five Brazilian ports, meeting the country's specifications before blending with 27% ethanol. There are separate assessments for the ports of Itaqui, Suape, Aratu, Santos and Paranagua on a CFR basis.

All of the new gasoline assessments represent the value of a Medium Range-sized cargo of 250,000-350,000 barrels, for delivery 15-30 days forward from the day of assessment with a single port discharge. The assessments are published in $/barrel and the equivalent Brazilian Real/cubic meter value.

Platts will publish the assessments in Latin American Wire and US Marketscan, on Platts Global Alert pages 164, 165, 370, and 371 and under the following codes in the Platts pricing database:

NEW PROPANE ASSESSMENTS: Platts has also added propane assessments on a CFR basis to Suape and Santos.

The new propane assessments represent the value of a 44,000 mt cargo on a Very Large Gas Carrier for delivery 45-60 days forward from the day of assessment, with multiport discharge optionality in line with typical market practice. The Brazilian LPG assessments are published in $/mt and the equivalent Brazilian Real/kilogram.
