Platts is inviting feedback on a proposal to revise the Asian isomer-grade mixed xylenes methodology to include a minimum paraxylene content specification of 18% (by wt.) due to a change in market conditions.
Currently, the Platts Asian isomer-grade mixed xylenes methodology states that traded volume specifications should adhere to specifications as set out in the latest edition of ASTM D-843 in addition to:
a maximum ethylbenzene content of 18% maximum non-aromatics content of 1%, and maximum bromine index of 20 ppm.
The Asian isomer-MX assessments are published on Platts Petrochemical Alert pages 645 and 647, the Asian Petrochemicalscan, and under the following codes in the Platts price database:
