Platts proposes to standardize the conversion factors used for its global bunker fuel assessments with effect from July 1, 2013. From that date, Platts will define 6.35 as the factor for converting 180 CST and 380 CST bunker fuel assessments between metric tonnes and barrels. It will also define 7.45 as the factor for converting marine diesel and marine gasoil fuel assessments between metric tonnes and barrels. The new assessments would appear on Platts Global Alert, in Bunkerwire and in the Platts price database. Please send all initial feedback and comments by December 20, 2012 to oilgroup@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com
