SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes adding 3rd laycan to Asia paraxylene markers

Platts proposes adding a third half-month marker laycan to its daily Asian paraxylene assessments to capture more forward trading activity and to reflect bids, offers and trades better for the next full month after ports have been declared for the prompt month. Currently the daily FOB Korea and CFR Taiwan/China markers average the means of the assessed low-high ranges for the third and fourth half-months forward. The additional marker laycan would be the fifth half-month laycan. For example, if the marker currently consists of H1 and H2 December, the added marker laycan would be H1 January. The launch date for this change is tentatively set for December 22. Please send any feedback or questions to petchems@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com by November 24, 2015.
