S&P Global Platts would like to clarify that the maximum oxygenates content of 50 ppm for naphtha cargoes reflected in its C+F Japan, C+F South Korea and FOB Arab Gulf naphtha assessments reflects the total content of all oxygenates present in a cargo. Examples of oxygenates include, but are not limited to, TAME, MTBE and ETBE.
Platts is also clarifying the units for some specification parameters reflected in its C+F Japan, C+F South Korea and FOB Arab Gulf naphtha assessments.
The units for paraffins, olefins and n-paraffins content are expressed as a percentage of volume; units for sulfur, chlorine, total oxygenates and carbon disulfide content are expressed as parts per million (ppm) of weight; and units for mercury, arsenic and lead content are in parts per billion (ppb) of weight. The units for specific gravity at 60 degrees Fahrenheit and density at 15 degrees Celsius are expressed as g/ml.
The units are listed in the specification tables below:
PLATTS C+F JAPAN NAPHTHA SPECS
PLATTS C+F SOUTH KOREA NAPHTHA SPECS
PLATTS FOB ARAB GULF NAPHTHA SPECS
ASIAN GASOLINE, GASOIL SPECIFICATION UNITS: Platts is also clarifying that the unit for mercaptan sulfur content for gasoline cargoes reflected in its FOB Singapore gasoline assessments is ppm of weight; the unit for density at 15 degrees Celsius for gasoline cargoes reflected in its FOB Arab Gulf gasoline assessments is g/ml; and the unit for FAME content for gasoil cargoes reflected in its FOB Singapore and FOB Arab Gulf gasoil assessments is percentage of volume.
Platts would like to remind market participants that Platts oil assessments reflect product meeting the parameters detailed in its published methodology. In addition, any cargo delivered as a result of a transaction during the Platts Market on Close assessment process should be merchantable.
