S&P Global Platts launched the adjusted sulfur content of its FOB USWC 3% petcoke assessment to 4.5% on Nov. 4, 2020.
Increasing the sulfur content to 4.5% from the current 3% better reflects the quality of petcoke traded in the export spot market from the US West Coast. Platts would consider other qualities of petcoke and normalize them to this base standard in the assessment process.
This change affected the current assessments listed below and resulted in a change of assessment name signifying the increase in sulfur content to 4.5%.
The changes was published in the Petcoke Weekly supplement in Coal Trader and Coal Trader International, and Global Coal Alert page 960, Platts Global Alert page 960, and North American Coal Alert page 960.
