Platts clarifies changes to CFR NWE PLV coking coal assessment post April 1, 2021

S&P Global Platts clarifies that the specifications of premium low volatile hard coking coal CFR NWE assessment (PLVHE00, PLVHE03) will mirror the new benchmark specification of Platts PLV FOB Australia (PLVHA00), effective April 1, 2021.

Following extensive industry feedback, Platts decided on Aug. 3, 2020, to merge two existing FOB Australia price series, and align their specifications with the current market standards. The relevant decision note can be found here: https://bit.ly/2GFKYyC.

This change affects a number of related price series, including the CFR NWE daily calculation, which represents a net forward from PLV FOB Australia.
