North Sea crude oil workshop November 14

Platts invites interested parties to its next Crude Oil Technical Workshop on November 14, at our offices in Canary Wharf.

The meeting will include a review of methodology changes on Dated Brent and related instruments that were announced on September 16, 2011.

Platts will also discuss possible further changes contemplated for January 2015, where it would consider in the assessments for cash Brent a nomination process that would start on the last day of the month, two months prior to delivery.

Platts recognizes the value of long-term planning for major price benchmarks and has started the engagement process for this change.

Other topics for discussion include the proposals for quality escalators on North Sea grades in the Dated Brent benchmark assessment process; the possible addition of further grades into the Dated Brent benchmark; a sulfur de-escalator review and a proposal to extend Platts CFD assessment range.

We aim for these sessions to be as interactive as possible. The workshop will start at 10:00 and we aim to finish around 13:00.
