Platts amends volumes for Panama bunkers assessments, updates eWindow instruments

S&P Global Platts has amended the ex-wharf volumes assessed for Panama bunkers for Marine Fuel 0.5%S and IFO 380, and established a minimum and maximum volume for MGO, effective Nov. 1, 2021.

Platts has changed the ex-wharf volume range for all Panamanian assessments of Marine Fuel 0.5%S and IFO 380 to 500-1,000 mt. The previous range was 500-1,500 mt for Balboa, Cristobal and the Panama Canal, which reflects the lower of the two ports on occasions when the two diverge.

Platts has also established a minimum and maximum range for MGO in Panama of 75-225 mt. Previously Platts reflected a typical size of 150 mt for Balboa, Cristobal and the Panama Canal.

Effective Nov. 1, Platts has updated the eWindow instruments to reflect the new ranges. Participants in the Platts Market on Close assessment process can submit bids, offers and trades for publication through the eWindow communication tool for a minimum volume of 500 mt and a maximum volume of 1,000 mt for IFO 380 and Marine Fuel 0.5%S in Balboa, and for a minimum volume of 75 mt and a maximum volume of 225 mt for MGO.
