Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has updated the Platts-ICE Gas Indices Americas (GIA) natural gas index locations and weightings for November 2024-March 2025. The locations, location weightings and region weightings are as follows:
GIA Northeast region locations and location weightings:
Columbia Gas, Appalachia | 27.15% |
Texas Eastern, M-2 receipts | 26.17% |
Transco, Leidy Line receipts | 16.18% |
Texas Eastern, M-3 | 16.04% |
Transco, zone 5 delivered | 14.46% |
GIA Midwest region locations and location weightings:
Dawn, Ontario | 26.79% |
REX, zone 3 delivered | 20.58% |
Northern Border, Ventura TP | 20.56% |
Chicago city-gates | 16.17% |
Alliance, into interstates | 15.89% |
GIA South region locations and location weightings:
El Paso, Permian Basin | 30.00% |
Waha | 25.78% |
Transco, zone 4 | 19.90% |
Texas Gas, zone 1 | 13.32% |
Transco, zone 3 | 11.00% |
GIA West region locations and location weightings:
TCPL Alberta, AECO-C | 40.00% |
SoCal Gas, city-gate | 16.36% |
SoCal Gas | 16.36% |
PG&E city-gate | 14.60% |
Westcoast, station 2 | 12.68% |
GIA North America weightings:
GIA Northeast | 36.06% |
GIA South | 22.68% |
GIA Midwest | 10.93% |
GIA West | 30.33% |
These weightings took effect on trade date Oct. 31, 2024, for flow date Nov. 1, 2024.
Platts amends these weightings twice a year seasonally based on trade volumes from the same season a year prior.
