Platts launches Platts-ICE Gas Indices Americas (GIA) natural gas indices locations and weightings for November 2023-March 2024

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched the GIA natural gas indices locations and weightings for November 2023 -March 2024. The locations, location weightings, and region weightings are as follows:

GIA Northeast Region Locations and Location Weightings:

Columbia Gas, Appalachia 26.82%

Texas Eastern, M-2, receipts 25.57%

Texas Eastern, M-316.54%

Transco, Leidy Line Receipts 16.41%

Transco, Zone 5 14.86%

GIA Midwest Region Locations and Location Weightings:

Dawn, Ontario29.35%

Northern Border, Ventura21.07%

Chicago Citygates17.60%

Alliance, into interstates16.30%

REX, zone 3 delivered15.68%

GIA South Region Locations and Location Weightings:

El Paso, Permian Basin 27.90%

Waha 26.78%

Transco, zone 4 20.38%

Texas Gas, zone 113.24%

Transco, zone 311.70%

GIA West Region Locations and Location Weightings:

TCPL Alberta, AECO-C 40.00%

SoCal Gas, city-gate 15.97%

SoCal Gas 15.97%

PG&E city-gate 15.97%

Westcoast, station 212.09%

GIA Region Weightings:

GIA Northeast 36.42%

GIA South 22.06%

GIA Midwest 10.87%

GIA West 30.65%

These weightings took effect on trade date Oct. 31, 2023, for flow date Nov. 1, 2023.

Platts amends these weightings twice a year seasonally based on trade volumes from the same season a year prior.
