Following a period of industry consultation and feedback, S&P Global Platts has discontinued the Hong Kong marine gasoil delivered bunker assessment effective November 1, 2017.
Platts first proposed this discontinuation in a subscriber note published on June 27, 2017: https://www.platts.com/subscriber-notes-details/27850146
Since April 1, 2014, sales of Marine Light Diesel (MLD) within Hong Kong have been restricted to a maximum 0.05% sulfur or 500 ppm. On June 1, 2017, Platts launched an assessment for LSMGO for Hong Kong. The assessment for LSMGO in Hong Kong is published on Platts Global Alert page 2850 under the code AAXYQ00.
The MGO assessment under the code AATXL00 will be discontinued from Platts Bunkerwire and Platts Global Alert page 2850. It has also been discontinued from Bunkerworld effective November 1, 2017.
