Platts suspends publication of I-REC India Hydro assessments, Oct 27

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has suspended publication of the current-year and previous-year I-REC India Hydro price assessments, effective Oct. 27.

This suspension reflects the minimal issuance of hydro I-RECs since October 2024. When Platts first began assessing hydro I-RECs in 2022, total hydro issuance stood at around 3.7 TWh, accounting for roughly 60% of total I-REC issuance of 6 TWh that year.

Year to date in 2025, hydro issuance has fallen sharply to about 0.1 TWh out of 12 TWh in total I-REC issuance, representing just 0.96% of the market.

The price assessments that have been suspended are as follows:

Prior to the suspensions, these assessments were published on the fixed pages CLE1200, EVA1000, ETA6300, and in Platts REC Daily, Platts Megawatt Daily, and Platts European Power Daily.

Platts will continue to monitor issuance volume for hydro I-RECs and notify market participants should the publication of the above assessments be resumed.
