Platts to launch US clean aluminum wheels assessment

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will launch a new daily price assessment for the US aluminum wheels scrap market, effective Dec. 1, 2023.

Market participants have reported demand for aluminum wheels scrap increasing significantly over the last year as they have observed more recycling of wheel scrap as a key raw material for the production of high-purity aluminum-silicon alloys, including structural alloys.

Specifications regarding quality, quantity, dimensions, incoterms, location, timing, payment, and unit of measure will be as follows:
