Following industry feedback, Platts is proposing to discontinue crude oil assessments for Colombian Cano Limon crude oil. The assessments would be discontinued from January 2, 2013. Platts has been assessing Cano Limon on an FOB Colombia basis since May 1998. Since that time, production of that crude grade has declined and producers of that Colombian crude grade plan not to export any cargoes from October 2012 onward. Platts will continue to publish a Cano Limon crude oil assessment that will represent the value of the crude oil in relation to similar, regional crude oil grades until December 28, 2012. This assessment is currently published on Platts Global Alert page 280, Platts Latin American Wire and in the Platts price assessment database. Please send all questions, suggestions, and comments by November 30 to americas_crude@platts.com, with a cc pricegroup@platts.com.
