S&P Global Platts would like to remind European ethanol market participants that published offers should be for laycans that are logistically performable.
Participants who are intending to sell should not offer when there is a known and distinct possibility that loading/delivery may be delayed.
If congestion or delays prevent performance under the contractual terms, the seller should make reasonable and timely efforts to supply from an alternative source, or the seller should engage in other measures to alleviate the buyer's exposure.
Platts may monitor performance and may reach out to participants to sellers to understand how they intend to perform on offers and what terminal will be nominated.
Non-adherence to Platts editorial guidelines may lead to a review of participation status.
