SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes Dec launch of UK hot rolled coil assessment

Platts is proposing to launch a weekly assessment of the UK hot rolled coil steel market on December 4, 2014, in response to market interest. The price assessment for HRC DDP UK would normalize to delivered duty paid West Midlands, and capture prime imported and domestically produced material as well as port stocks. The assessment will normalize to 3 millimeter thick and up to 1.8 meter wide S275 hot rolled coil. The minimum order size would be 5 mt, with a maximum truckload of 25 mt, and the delivery window would be seven days from the date of publication. Payment terms would be normalized to net-40 days, with the assessment in GBP/mt. The weekly assessment would be made on Thursdays or the closest business day in the event of holidays, time stamped to 1630 London time.
