Platts to update publication of Petrobras bunkers posted prices

Following a change in Petrobras bunkers posted prices, S&P Global Platts will database a single value for Petrobras Bunker Postings for 0.5%S VLSFO and MGO, effective Oct. 14, 2021.

This follows a change from Petrobras in how it provides its posted prices.

Petrobras bunkers posted prices were historically published as a range.

Beginning Oct. 5, Petrobras began only publishing a single value.

Platts posted prices historically reflected the published high and low range, with the center calculated as the midpoint of the range.

Beginning Oct. 14, Platts posted prices will reflect only Petrobras's center value, and the low and high range will be equal to the published center value.

Platts will backfill the data to Oct. 5 to reflect the change, with the center, low and high equal to the single value that Petrobras published on those days.

On Jan. 3, 2022, Platts will discontinue the low and high for these prices and publish a single center value. There will be no change to the symbols.

Due to the change in the data, some of the prices have not updated or were published incorrectly in the publications and fixed pages since Oct. 5.

Platts has republished all the fixed pages and will republish the tables in the publications for each of the days since October 5.

These third-party prices are databased in Bunkerwire and Latin American Wire and published on page 876 of Platts Global Alert and page 2244 of Platts Shipping Alert.

In Bunkerwire and Latin American Wire they appear under the table titled Petrobras Bunker Postings.
