SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to add 50% minimum GHG savings requirement to EU ethanol assesments

Following market feedback, Platts has decided effective from December 5, 2016, to introduce a minimum 50% greenhouse gas (GHG) saving requirement for the FOB Rotterdam T2 and T1 ethanol assessments and MOC processes.

This will operate in addition to the prevailing Renewable Energy Directive (RED) requirement, with the highest requirement for GHG savings taking precedence.

The decision follows a proposal note issued September 13, 2016.
