Platts proposes to state the de-escalator applied to the North Sea's Forties crude oil every month between the 15th and the 25th of the month prior to implementation. As an example, the de-escalator for November would be announced between October 15-25. Under this proposed approach, Platts would state the de-escalator, whether or not the value is being changed. The de-escalator would change if there is a significant and sustained event in the crude market, as impacted by refined products and other relevant factors affecting the economics of Forties. Otherwise, the de-escalator would be reiterated with no change. Platts maintains an open review of the de-escalator and welcomes continuous feedback. Please send comments and queries to europe_crude@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
