SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts amends Worldscale baskets for four tanker assessments

Following Worldscale Association circular numbers 37 and 39 for 2019, S&P Global Platts will amend the Worldscale flat rate baskets used for $/mt calculations in one dirty and three clean tanker assessments, effective Friday, November 1, 2019.

"In light of recent information received regarding increased port and marine service fees at the Barrow Island Gorgon LNG Condensate Terminal, the Associations find it necessary to amend the Barrow Island variable rate differential," according to circular 37.

For a cargo loaded from the Gorgon LNG Condensate Terminal an addition of $1.09/mt must be made to the voyage in question, the Worldscale Association said.

According to circular 39: "In light of recent information regarding a significant increase in port tariffs at Bombay the Associations find it necessary to revise all rates involving loading or discharging at this port."

Based on this amendment, the new flat rate for voyages involving the west coast India port of Bombay are obtainable by adding 14 cents/mt.

For Worldscale tanker assessments, Platts uses baskets of Worldscale flat rates as a basis for $/mt calculations.

The affected Platts assessments are:
