Subscriber note: Platts will consolidate molybdenum assessments

After considering industry feedback, Platts will implement its proposed change to adjust the methodology for the Weekly Molybdenum Dealer Oxide assessment, effective January 2, 2013, so that the Weekly Dealer Oxide price reflects the weekly average of the Daily Dealer Oxide assessment. The weekly average will be published on Fridays. In response to industry requests, Platts will publish a weekly average low-high range as well as a midpoint/mean. On the last business day of each month, Platts will close the assessment period for the Daily Molybdenum Oxide assessment at 1 pm London time in order to issue the monthly average shortly thereafter. Platts will continue to publish monthly averages of the Dealer Oxide assessment that reflect both the mean/midpoint (Monthly Daily Dealer Oxide Midpoint) as well as the average of the low end of the daily assessment ranges (Monthly Daily Oxide Low). Platts will also publish a rolling month-to-date average of the midpoint on a daily basis, effective January 2, 2013. The daily moly assessment will continue to close each day at 4:30 pm London time and encompass dealer-to-consumer, producer-to-dealer, dealer-to-dealer and producer-to-consumer spot business in-warehouse European ports, delivered US and CIF Japan main ports, CIF South Korean ports and CIF Nhava Sheva/Mumbai, India.
