Platts to discontinue FOB Santos-NYH ethanol assessments

S&P Global Platts will discontinue its FOB Santos, Brazil, delivered to New York Harbor ethanol assessments, effective Jan. 4, 2021.

Platts first proposed this discontinuation in a subscriber note published Sept. 9. Platts understands traders no longer track the Santos-NYH ethanol arbitrage as product typically moves from Brazil into California, with smaller volumes flowing into Florida.

The affected assessments are: AAXNO00 – Anhydrous ethanol spot FOB Santos direct to NYH FOB inc D5 RIN ($/gal) AAXNP00 - Anhydrous ethanol spot FOB Santos direct to NYH FOB inc D5 RIN ($/cu m).

The assessments appear on Platts Biofuels Alert (PBF) page 226, Biofuelscan, and in the Platts price database under the codes above. Platts will continue to publish its anhydrous, hydrous, and Grade B FOB Santos ethanol assessments.
