CLARIFICATION: On September 30, Platts published a story regarding data on Germany's fuel ethanol consumption, taken from BAFA's monthly release.
While the story clearly referred to the consumption of fuel ethanol via direct blending into the German gasoline market through the month of July 2014, the headline referred only to German ethanol consumption.
Platts would like to clarify that the story was referring to the consumption of fuel ethanol via direct blending, which amounted to 90,026 mt, versus Germany's entire ethanol consumption into fuels including ETBE, which amounted to 102,425 mt, according to the BAFA data.
