Platts has identified a technological issue with the eWindow communication tool that could affect indications on the fuel oil cargo market in the Platts Market on Close assessment process. The issue is limited to bids and offers which have a discount in their pricing, i.e. those bids and offers which price at an average of Platts assessments minus a discount. Platts editors can facilitate posting and adjusting indications via Yahoo instant messenger ("plattsfueloil" for high sulphur fuel oil and "plattslsfo" for low sulphur fuel oil) or by telephone (+44(0)20 7176 6278). The cut-offs and increment timings for editor-facilitated indications are based on the non-eWindow schedule, with price improvements of a maximum of $1/mt per minute, and a freeze on updates to published bids and offers at 16.28 London time. Bids and offers can be withdrawn at any time, so long as no prior interest has been expressed to Platts by potential counterparties.
