SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes to launch daily California LCFS carbon credit assessment

Effective December 5, 2016, S&P Global Platts proposes to launch a daily price assessment for carbon credits under the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) as defined by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).

The assessments would reflect credits transferable before the end of the current calendar year in US dollars per metric ton (mt) of carbon dioxide equivalent and would be published in Platts Biofuelscan and on the Platts Biofuels Alert real-time service.

In December, Platts would begin assessing credits transferable in the following year as well as the current year.

Platts welcomes all feedback and questions on the proposed assessment through October 21, 2016.
