Platts proposes to introduce additional NBP, TTF natural gas assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to extend its current National Balancing Point (NBP), United Kingdom, and Title Transfer Facility (TTF), Netherlands natural gas offerings to additional months, quarters, seasons and years ahead, effective Dec. 1, 2022.

The new daily assessments would reflect the physical gas price for the following delivery periods:

On TTF: Month Ahead 3, Month Ahead 4, Month Ahead 5, Month Ahead 6, Quarter Ahead 3, Quarter Ahead 4, Quarter Ahead 5, Quarter Ahead 6, Season Ahead 5, Season Ahead 6, Season Ahead 7, Season Ahead 8, Calendar Year 4, Calendar Year 5, Calendar Year 6

On NBP: Month Ahead 3, Month Ahead 4, Month Ahead 5, Month Ahead 6, Quarter Ahead 3, Quarter Ahead 4, Quarter Ahead 5, Quarter Ahead 6, Season Ahead 5, Season Ahead 6

TTF prices would be assessed in Eur/MWh, and would be converted into $/MMBtu, pence/therm and Eur/GJ, while NBP would be assessed in pence/therm, converted into Eur/MWh, Eur/GJ and $/MMBtu. This would utilize standard conversion factors (https://www.spglobal.com/platts/PlattsContent/assets/files/en/conversiontables/conversion_factors.pdf) and prevailing foreign exchange rates at the time of the assessment.

The new assessments would reflect the value at the close of the market at 16:30 London time and would follow the UK publishing schedule.

Platts would publish the additional NBP and TTF assessments daily on the Natural Gas news wire, and in the European Gas Daily publication alongside its existing NBP and TTF natural gas prices.
