SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to change cargo size, description on Handysize dry bulk scrap route to Turkey

In response to market changes and industry feedback, S&P Global Platts confirms it will change the description and methodology of the Rotterdam-Turkey Handysize scrap freight assessment basis 25,000 mt, to a Rotterdam-Turkey Supramax scrap freight assessment basis 30,000 mt. The effective date is December 1, 2017.

Platts will normalize any other cargo size on this route to a 30,000 mt basis.

Platts proposed this change in a note published August 15, 2017 (https://www.platts.com/subscriber-notes-details/26787717).

This change is a reflection of a more frequent flow of 30,000 mt than 25,000 mt steel scrap cargoes loaded out of Rotterdam, to Aliaga.

The assessments appear in Dry Freight Wire and the fixed page PMA-3912 under code MSRAT00.
