Platts to launch unsubsidised waste European biomethane GO assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will launch daily assessments for unsubsidized waste feedstock biomethane guarantees of origin (GOs) in Denmark and the Netherlands, effective Nov. 1.

Due to the growth in compliance markets in Europe which require the use of unsubsidized biomethane to fulfill , the new assessments will reflect the traded prices into this increasingly relevant segment of the market.

Compliance markets refer to related biofuels tickets, domestic blending requirements, etc.

The daily assessments will be for the current-year and year-ahead vintages for both the unsubsidized Denmark and Netherlands assessments, and utilize the current CI value definition range for waste certificates of 25.00 g to 0 g CO2e/MJ.

The unsubsidized Netherlands and Denmark waste assessments will be published in Eur/MWh.

The assessments will be published on a 4:30 pm London timestamp.
