Platts to hold Europe ethanol methodology workshop in London Oct. 16

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will hold a workshop covering Europe ethanol methodology and pricing in London on Oct. 16.

The workshop follows a consultation note published Aug. 27 that discusses the need to review raising the greenhouse gas savings threshold reflected in its T2 ethanol FOB Rotterdam barge assessment: https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/082724-platts-opens-consultation-on-raising-t2-ethanol-ghg-savings-threshold-from-january-2026

In line with the Renewable Energy Directive III (2030), more EU member states are moving progressively to emissions-based targets, and higher GHG savings are becoming more typical in ethanol production.

Simultaneously, initiatives such as the Union Database for Biofuels (UDB) are intended to improve the traceability of liquid fuels and their sustainability attributes.

Join our experts during this workshop to discuss the following topics:

  • Increasing Ethanol T2 GHG emissions threshold discussion
  • Union Database for Biofuels and its implications for Platts methodology
  • Other ethanol methodology discussion points
