SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes to launch NNE Brazil ethanol assessment Nov 10

S&P Global Platts proposes to launch a North-Northeast Brazil anhydrous ethanol assessment effective November 10, 2017. The proposal is in line with increased interest in a transparent and clearly defined assessment in the region.

The NNE assessment would reflect anhydrous ethanol standard ANP quality in Suape, one to 15 days forward from the date of publication.

Platts proposes to calculate the assessment basis DAP (Delivered At Place) Suape, Pernambuco; other locations and Incoterms such as FOB/CIF may be considered, but will be normalized back to the basis location. Platts would take into consideration product produced regionally, transfers from the Center-South region, as well as volumes delivered from international locations.

The minimum volume would be 250,000 liters, or 250 cu m, and the maximum volume 1,000,000 liters, or 1,000 cu m. Other volumes may also be considered, but in relation to the assessed volume range.

Platts would consider standard payment terms such as payment within 10 days of "delivery."

The assessments would be timestamped to 4:30 pm Sao Paulo time Friday and published in the Friday Biofuelscan and the Platts Weekly Global Ethanol Report. The data also will be available on Platts Biofuels Alert and Platts Agriculture Alert.

Platts welcomes all feedback and questions on the proposed assessment through to September 29, 2017.
