SUBSCRIBER NOTE (UPDATED): Platts proposes to remove brands specifications in Steel Markets Daily

(updated to add page 8 of Coal Trader International in first par and extension of feedback period to October 3)

S&P Global Platts is proposing to remove the brands' specifications in Asia Pacific Metallurgical Coal Relativities CFR China table found on page 9 of Steel Markets Daily publication, and page 8 of Coal Trader International publication.

The proposal aims to help Platts respond faster to changes in typical specifications of metallurgical coal brands. Platts has extended its feedback period for this proposal until October 3, 2018. Platts' assumption of typical specifications will remain available to market participants upon request. Platts would continue to publish assessments for each brand relativity, and their relative spread to Platts Premium Low Vol and HCC 64 Mid Vol assessments. Platts proposes for this change to take place on November 1, 2018.
