Platts clarifies loading schedule criteria for USGC crude oil terminal review process

Platts, a part of S&P Global Commodities Insights, has clarified its criteria regarding the availability of loading information for US Gulf Coast terminals requesting to be included as part of WTI Midland into the Brent complex.

Owing to observed market standard on loading slots and the timing of shipper nominations and terminal confirmations, US Gulf Coast terminals may not be able to provide a month-ahead loading schedule comparable to cash BFOE cargo slots in the North Sea for publication alongside the existing FOB North Sea loading programs.

Therefore, at a minimum Platts considers that an eligible terminal should make clear its typical monthly allotment of loading slots for potential cargoes, and inform the market promptly of any planned maintenance or major operational disruptions.

Platts original criteria for USGC terminal reviews was published June 8. Platts clarifies USGC terminal review process for WTI Midland in Brent Complex
