Following market feedback, S&P Global Platts proposes to amend the color specifications reflected in its FOB Singapore 92 RON unleaded, 95 RON unleaded and 97 RON unleaded gasoline, and invites submissions from interested parties to the review process.
Platts is proposing to add the additional standard of colorless to the current color and appearance for its FOB Singapore gasoline assessment. Therefore, the new standard will reflect gasoline cargoes which will remain undyed, but colorless to light yellow, instead of the current standard of light yellow,as of December 2, 2019.
Platts has been made aware recently that gasoline cargoes exported from North Asian refineries are sometimes colorless.
All other parameters and standard for FOB Singapore gasoline cargoes will remain unchanged.
Platts periodically reviews the specifications of all its assessments to ensure they are representative of the most tradable grades.
Such reviews may lead to changes to the existing specifications of an assessment, though any changes would be subject to further industry consultation ahead of any final decision.
Platts last updated the specifications of these assessments on July 1, 2019.
