Platts is seeking feedback on the upcoming Forties sulfur de-escalator to be applied to October-loading North Sea Forties crude cargoes and related instruments. Platts plans to publish the Forties sulfur de-escalator for the upcoming month, whether the value changes or not. Platts will always publish the Forties sulfur de-escalator applied to the North Sea's Forties crude oil every month at 3 pm London time, on the 25th of the month prior to the month of implementation. In cases where the 25th of the month is a nonworking day in the UK, the de-escalator is announced on the closest business day prior to the 25th. Platts considers a number of indicators in the determination of the Forties sulfur de-escalator level including the behavior of sweet and light crudes versus sour and heavier streams in the North Sea and other competing regions as well as the performance of refined products and the outright price of oil. Please send feedback by Monday, September 23, to europe_crude@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com. For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
