SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts adjusts timing policies for Asian MTBE MOC

After launching a proposal in July and soliciting market feedback, Platts confirms that it has adjusted timing policies for the Asian MTBE assessment processes on the launch of the eWindow communication tool on September 4, 2015.

In line with the efficiencies the eWindow tool offers, Platts will dispense with the 4:28 pm Singapore time freeze, allowing bids and offers to be changed in line with Platts' incrementability standards right until 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT), the end of the MTBE Market on Close assessment process in Asia.

Participants will be able to improve bids and offers at a maximum of $1/mt in a minimum of 30 seconds. A 1-minute extension period will be triggered by any price move or a re-bid/re-offer in the last 30 seconds prior to the close of the MOC process at 4:30 pm, replacing the current 3-minute extension. Following a trade, the traded bid or offer can be repeated within 40 seconds. Even after the launch of the eWindow communication tool, participants may still submit bids or offers through instant messenger, but such manual indications would still be governed by the timing standards that currently operate for the manual MOC process.
