SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to change Butane FOB West Med assessment

Following an extensive review with market participants, Platts will make a number of changes in its Butane West Med FOB Ex-Refinery/Storage pressurized assessment. These changes will be effective from January 3, 2017.

Platts will standardize the name of the assessment across all publications, update the volume assessed and clarify its position on bids into Lavera, France. This announcement follows a proposal subscriber note published on May 27, 2016.

NAME OF ASSESSMENT: In certain publications Platts describes this assessment as Butane W Med FOB Ex-Refinery/Storage. Platts will standardize this to "Butane FOB West Med Coaster".

VOLUME ASSESSED: Platts will also change the volume under assessment, from a minimum of 2,500 mt plus or minus 5% tolerance to 1,600 mt plus or minus 5%.

LOADING BASIS: Platts will continue to reflect bids where the buyer is willing to load in a different location to the basis port of Lavera, subject to potential freight compensation. Restrictive bids basis only Lavera will no longer be considered for assessment.
