Platts to introduce US daily spot HDPE assessment

Following a period of industry feedback, Platts has decided to introduce a daily US high density polyethylene assessment on October 17, 2011.

Platts will assess blowmolding grade quality for this assessment, and will consider volumes of 250 mt or greater.

The proposed assessment will reflect product loading 3-30 days forward from the date of publication basis FOB US Gulf Coast, for product with a melt flow rate of .25 or higher.

This new assessment will be published on PCA page 572.
