SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Chicago gasoline RVP changes to 11.5 September 15

Please note that S&P Global Platts assessments will reflect Chicago 87-octane unleaded, 89-octane unleaded, 91-octane unleaded, CBOB, RBOB and premium RBOB gasoline at 11.5 RVP effective September 15, 2017.

Explorer Pipeline, on whose schedule Chicago pipeline assessments and RVP transitions are based, has said it expects exclusively 11.5 RVP product to ship on the line beginning with September's third cycle opening September 15. Chicago gasoline this year is shifting from 9 RVP to 11.5 RVP earlier than it historically has based on RVP waivers allowed in many US states this fall by the US Environmental Protection Agency due to Hurricane Harvey.

The change is part of seasonal adjustments to gasoline vapor pressure specifications.
