In response to market feedback, S&P Global Platts will begin publishing a monthly average for front-month DME Oman crude oil futures databased against the month of trade, with effect from November 1, 2018.
The new monthly value will be published under the code XDOAS03 in the Platts price database and on Platts Global Alert page 1068.
This is in addition to the existing DME Oman average price that Platts publishes that is databased against the month of cargo loading.
Saudi Aramco has announced that its official selling price for crude oil to Asia will be based on the average of Platts Dubai and DME Oman during the month of loading from October cargoes onwards.
For Aramco's October OSP onward, Platts will calculate the outright value based on the OSP differentials and the monthly averages of front-month Platts Dubai and DME Oman.
Please send all feedback or questions to asia_crude@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
