Platts confirms it will launch two new Panamax dry bulk freight assessments on November 1, 2016, reflecting the increasing liquidity on bauxite routes from Kamsar, Guinea, and Trombetas, Brazil, to North China.
The launch of assessments for these routes follows a proposal published August 24, 2016.
The new assessments will reflect the growing spot fixture activity on these routes basis 60,000 mt (plus/minus 10%) for meeting the bauxite requirements of Chinese aluminum producers.
Both assessments will be published on a dollar per metric ton basis.
The following two routes will be introduced:
