Subscriber note: Platts to seek feedback to revise PX ARA volume standard to 5kt

Platts has received further requests from some participants in the European paraxylene industry for Platts to review the volume for European PX basis FOB Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp used in the Platts assessments, from the current 1,000 mt lots to a proposed 5,000 mt lots. In an earlier feedback gathering process and Platts internal review in November 2011, Platts decided to retain the existing 1,000 mt volume standard in its assessment. However, recent feedback from some market participants suggest that transaction of 5,000 mt lots now prevail in the marketplace. Platts invites industry feedback to the proposal to expand the PX lot size used in the Platts assessment process from the existing 1,000 mt to 5,000 mt.
