Platts to specify European MTBE, ETBE conversion rates

Following a period of research and market feedback, S&P Global Platts will specify a dollars per metric ton to dollars per barrel conversion rate in its European MTBE and ETBE methodology, effective October 7, 2020.

Platts understands that market participants use a range of conversion rates depending on density and sought feedback on typical industry practice in a subscriber note available here: https://bit.ly/35miO64

Platts will update its specification guides to reflect a standard conversion rate from $/mt to $/b of 8.45 for MTBE and 8.42 for ETBE.
