Platts corrects August 2023 monthly average for 99.8% US cobalt cathode

Platts is correcting the monthly average to its 99.8% US spot cobalt cathode mean for the month of August 2023, Pricepoint database symbol MMAEO03 to $17.408/lb.

The correction is being made as a result of a miscalculation after the assessment frequency changed to daily from weekly on Aug. 29, 2023. Platts has calculated the corrected monthly average by using a weekly average for the last week of August from the published daily assessments to ensure consistency and equal weighting for the monthly average calculation.

These assessments appear on service line pages PMA0664, MTL0664 and STL0664 and in Platts Metals Alert, Monthly Average tables and Platts Metals Week Price Notificaton Monthly Report.
