SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes using LSMGO price in some TCE assessments

Following the shift towards a lower sulfur standard within Hong Kong for marine gasoil sales, S&P Global Platts proposes to use the Low Sulfur Marine Gasoil (LSMGO) price instead of the Marine Gasoil value in some of its dry bulk time charter equivalent (TCE) assessments, effective November 1, 2017.

Platts has also proposed to discontinue its Hong Kong Marine Gasoil Delivered bunker assessment from Nov 1. Platts on June 1, 2017, launched LSMGO assessments at a number of Asian ports including Hong Kong.

The following dry bulk TCE assessments would be affected as the bunkering port considered is Hong Kong:

PPTCE48 South China East Kalimantan, Indonesia Guangzhou - CRYAC00 PSTCE22 South China East Kalimantan, Indonesia Guangzhou - CRYAB00

Since April 1, 2014, sales of Marine Light Diesel within Hong Kong have been restricted to a maximum 0.05% sulfur or 500 ppm.
